As you may already know, Branch Highways is engaged in the James Madison Highway (RTE 15) improvement PPTA project from RTE 66 North to Ingram Drive.
This project has 5 designated phases, one of which is the improvement and widening of Old Carolina Rd.
As part of our co-operation with Prince William County, it is our responsibility to inform you of an upcoming traffic pattern change and detour on Old Carolina Road.
This will be a temporary traffic pattern change to facilitate the widening and bridge construction on Old Carolina Road. The traffic pattern changes will occur on or about December, 19th. These construction activities include the closing of Old Carolina Rd. from the intersection on Heathcote Blvd, to approximately 500 feet South of Piedmont Vista Drive.
During the construction operations Branch Highways/Prince William County will be opening the new section of Heathcote Blvd. between Old Carolina Rd. and James Madison Highway to accommodate traffic which would normally use Old Carolina Rd. A detour of the outlet for Pennshire Dr. at Old Carolina will be required for the safety of our personnel and construction equipment operating in that area.
